While the word ‘kefir’ might be spilling out of those trendy foodies’ mouths, let’s not forget that here in SA, we have always had our own probiotic-rich fermented milk drink: Amasi.

This salad is packed with protein thanks to the lean chicken breasts and the eggs, making it a filling and power-packed meal. In addition to being rich in protein, eggs are rich in B vitamins, including B1, B2, B6, and B12, which are essential for energy production.

When it comes to garnishing, we love sesame seeds. They’re rich in magnesium, a nutrient which helps convert sugar into energy. The fibre and healthy fat helps to stabilise blood-sugar levels for sustained energy throughout the day. Sprinkle them on pretty much anything!
