Winter is here. In Westeros that means, hier kom k**. And here in SA, it’s the perfect reason to curl up on the couch with a mug of hot chocolate, a bowl of popcorn and an episode of Game Of Thrones. Or ten. Because with so many Easter eggs sneaked into every episode, why wouldn’t you go back and binge-watch previous seasons?

Make It A Workout

With Game Of Thrones fever spreading faster than winter sniffles in an open-plan office, we came up with a fun game you can play with your workout buddy. It has all the key elements: Fitness, Bingo and Game Of Thrones. What’s not to love? Bonus: It’s a legit workout that will tone you up under all those winter layers. So when the fashion turns from Stark to Dothraki, you’ll be ready!

How It Works

STEP ONE: Download the Game Of Thrones Workout card below and print it out.

STEP TWO: Here’s the hard part – watch Game Of Thrones. Oh no. During the episode, look out for the scenes, characters and events on the sheet. If one of them happens, mark it off.

STEP THREE: CONSTRUCT YOUR WORKOUT

Beginner Do one set of the exercise in the block for the first time you spot that event or character. Once the block is marked, it’s out – so if it happens again during the show, you can ignore it. Mix up upper body, lower body, core and cardio exercises.

Up the ante Do one set of the exercise in the block for every time you spot that event or character. Three scenes of Little Finger being his creepy self? That’s 30 lunges for you. Good news: It works per scene. So if, say, there’s a battle scene with white walkers, you don’t need to run every time you see one. (Although that is highly recommended if you don’t happen to have dragonglass or Valyrian steel on your person).

Train like a Faceless Man Reckon you have the grit of Arya Stark? Do 1 minute 40 seconds of skipping after every strength exercise – that’s the length of the GoT intro, FYI.
