Revlon’s New Faces Are All The Body Positivity Inspo You Need

Good grief, but we love a good beauty image. We love it even more when there’s a story behind it, which must be why we’ve been crushing on Revlon’s Live Boldly babes since they announced their final line-up.

Gal Gadot

The new campaign, Live Boldly, kicked off this year with the announcement that wonder woman Wonderwoman, Gal Gadot, would be fronting the conversation. It’s a zeitgeisty move for Revlon, tapping into the collective global conversation around bringing women together, female power and celebrating diversity. As Gal herself says: “There’s a cultural shift happening, which Revlon celebrates, where feminine power is recognized, and I’m so proud that I get to witness and live this amazing change.”

Yes. That. Exactly. Gal Gadot is famously not just an actress, wife, mother and advocate for women, but also a former soldier and former Miss Israel. She is joined by four equally badass brand ambassadors – Ashley Graham, Adwoa Aboah, Imaan Hammam and Raquel Zimmermann.

As a model and advocate, Ashley Graham is the first curvy model to land a global beauty contract. She has always used her celebrity status to challenge conventional perceptions of beauty and is super-vocal about the inadequacies of a exclusive beauty, petitioning instead for ‘one size doesn’t fit all’ beauty ideals. As Ashley told Women’s Wear Daily: “Lipstick does not have a size.”

“I am thrilled to be part of this timely and groundbreaking, campaign with different types of women across races, ages and sizes,” she says. “Live boldly is the mantra of my life. Every day in the mirror I say to myself, ‘I am bold, I am brilliant, I am beautiful’.”

Brit model of the moment Adwoa is also the founder of Gurls Talk, an online community and safe space dedicated to providing girls with a platform to share their stories – whether that be mental health, body image, addiction, sexuality. She has been open about her own struggles with depression and teenage drug addition and is quoted as saying: “When I’m around those women, so much of the burden I carry – the depression and the bipolar, the fear of ever going back into that dark hole – is completely taken away. When we’re all taking part I don’t have to be ashamed about it or explain myself, they all understand. So Gurls Talk is as much for my benefit as anyone else’s.”

Imaan Hammam is an African-Arabic supermodel – yep, she’s of Egyptian and Moroccan descent, but was brought up in The Netherlands – while Brazilian-born Raquel Zimmermann is both a model and environmentalist. “Revlon has given us a platform that allows us to be accessible to all different types of women,” Adwoa shares. “To me, living boldly means being unapologetic, knowing no boundaries, being vulnerable, strong, authentic and yourself.”

Can’t say we don’t approve of that messaging.
