The raised arch is back, but seems less pronounced than before, providing just the right amount support. As always, the BOOST bouncy cushioning is there, in a broader iteration for a sturdier base.

HOVR Sonic, R2299, Under Armour
UA retains its signature Charged Cushioning with the HOVR: a shoe that’s all soft, supportive cushioning, thanks to its ‘Energy Web’ that wraps around the core of the shoe. Get the Sonic for a more supportive ride – its ankle support makes for longer runs.
React, R2999, Nike
Soft and springy with new high-tech foam, the shoe offers 10 percent more energy return than its predecessor, the Lunar. The really soft and comfortable, breathable upper make for a sweat-free ride, and the shoe’s lightness feels almost as if it were made for speed, not distance. Not so.

Speed 600 IGNITE 3, R2499, Puma
Puma’s brought out the third iteration of this shoe, this time incorporating its infinity lacing tech, NETFIT. This time, it doesn’t extend beyond the midsection of your foot, while the toe remains stable yet roomy. It’s a sturdier ride than previous IGNITEs, with less bounce, but its stability, from the ankle support to the deeply-grooved soul, makes up for it.
