Because why pay the big bucks when the answer to your skin woes is in your fridge?
Okay, let’s admit it — the boyfriends will never understand this. You know, along with all the other weird and wonderful beauty trends that we so tirelessly keep trying. Check out this new one that has the Koreans – and us – over-the-moon excited.
We’re talking facials — sparkling water facials. Dunking our heads into a bowl of carbonated mineral water facials. Yep, that’s happening.
Wait… What?
You might raise your brows at this… and it’s okay. Strange as it sounds, this fizzy face-cleansing technique, popularised by the beauty-savvy Koreans, could actually be your skin’s saving grace. It firms and improves the overall appearance of your skin, removing dead skin cells and purifying pores. Aside from doing away with dirt and grime, the bubbles in the beverage are known to deliver oxygen to the skin’s barrier, which can tone down puffy areas for a smoother, more supple look. Yes please!

Okay… But How?
Keeping up with this trend is basically as easy as ABC. All you have to do is fill a bowl with one part carbonated water and mix it with an equal amount of regular H20 (this will dilute some of the fizziness so that it’s not too harsh on the skin). You can use it while cleansing, or submerge your face in the treatment for 10 to 15 seconds — just don’t do it more than once or twice a week to avoid irritation.

Another option is to dab some of the liquid on a cotton pad and apply it as a toner. If you stick to the routine, your skin should appear fresher and more radiant in as little as a month. Voila!
