Don’t you hate it when you’re craving a certain meal, but when you check the cupboards, you don’t have all the necessary ingredients? It’s one of the worst let-downs. Luckily, this dhal recipe is so versatile, you’ll almost never not have everything you need to whip it up in just half an hour.
But be prepared, once you’ve tasted it, this dhal will quickly become a firm favourite (here at WH HQ, our little lunch club eats it at least once a week). You can serve it with brown rice, a fresh tomato and onion salad and lots of coriander. A poppadom or roti never hurt anyone either.
